Pre-college internship trainees are taking measurements of the performance and quality parameters of wireless networks to new heights, using TEMS pocket and DJI Phantom Vision 2+
During the spring, we’ve been running a project at Ericsson Research to enable measurement of wireless network performance and quality outside buildings. As a result, we now have a prototype where a DJI Phantom Vision 2+ quadcopter, carrying a TEMS© Pocket mobile test phone, can fly outside buildings and collect radio signal quality measurements.
We got to participate in this project as part of the Swedish “Tekniksprånget” – a program for pre-college students that aims to inspire a career in engineering.
Here’s a picture from a recent test, showing the quadcopter in action outside of the Ericsson Research facilities in Luleå, Sweden.
Having graduated from high school in Härnösand, Sweden, last year, we both intend to start Tech University in the fall. The experience of working here at Ericsson Research has made us even more enthusiastic about our career choice.
