For the first time, Google search will now reflect public posts, profiles, etc. from Facebook, in its results. These listings will appear as ‘deep links’. The social network giant will allow Google’s mobile search on Android to “crawl and index its app” to display the same. So, when a Facebook public post or public profile information appears on Google’s mobile search, and users click on the link, it will take them back to the relevant portion in the app. Sources say the mobile search results will, however, reflect only on an Android smartphones.
The Indian Express reports that the listings are restricted to profile pages only, along with public posts and photos that are public. Google has also recently signed a deal with Twitter to reflect tweets directly in its mobile and app search.
