Popular U.S. dating app, Tinder has made India its first overseas market for launching operations outside the U.S., and the company has appointed Taru Kapoor as the head of its operations. Hindustan Times reports that Kapoor will be operating out of Delhi and is currently charged with establishing the Tinder brand in India, growing user base and user engagement. Launched in 2010 in Los Angeles, Tinder works in 196 countries and is among the top lifestyle apps in over 70 countries.
Tinder CEO Sean Rad said,
We have exciting plans for Tinder in 2016 and having Taru on board is a step towards making India one of our core markets. Taru’s passion for Tinder and understanding of the Indian market makes us even more confident in our plans to expand in India.”
