According to a new study from the Pennsylvania State University, your Instagram behaviour may reveal your age. The study found that one of the greatest differences between the ways that teens and adults use Instagram is in frequency of posts. NDTV reports that it isn’t an obvious difference, i.e. teens are more likely to have fewer posts than adults, though their posts have far more likes and comments. The reason for this is that teens likely delete posts that don’t do well on the platform.
Dongwon Lee, who co-authored the research, said,
Teens want to be very popular so they’re very conscious of the likes they’re getting.”
Also, photos taken by both age groups were starkly different, with teens tending more toward selfies with a lot of tags about how they feel, while adults post more about location or nature.
