Twitter has made a big move in its live streaming department. On Wednesday, the company introduced new live streaming video apps for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Xbox One. CNBC reports that the move is in line with the platform’s live video strategy, the centrepiece of which is the NFL games, beginning tonight. These new apps will be free, won’t require users to create a Twitter account log in and will feature all the live streaming videos available on Twitter.
Apart from the 10 NFL games, the apps will feature content from MLB Advanced Media, the NBA, Pac-12 Networks and other partners, along with curated content from Periscope and Vine. Also, interestingly, Twitter’s Apple TV app will have a unique feature: Side-by-side screens for live video, as well as Tweeted video clips.
