Skype has launched its v6.25 update for iOS 10, and has announced that the updated platform brings new calling features and Siri integration. NDTV reports that users can now use the voice-based virtual assistant to make calls and send out messages via their Apple devices. This is thanks to the SiriKit which makes it easier for users to place VoIP calls and send messages.
Another important update is the introduction of the CallKit. This will ensure Skype contacts are integrated with the default contact information of a person. You can therefore, perform Skype actions without opening the app separately. In other words, the CallKit will make incoming Skype calls appear just like regular cellular calls. The CallKit will also let you invite friends directly from your contacts, and let you receive alerts and respond to Skype calls on CarPlay.
