Following a TV channel and website, the government (with the help of NASSCOM) will soon launch a nationwide toll-free helpline number to educate people and provide support related to cashless payments. NDTV reports that the ‘14444’ number is expected to be operational within a week.
NASSCOM President R Chandrashekar said that the government had sought Nasscom’s help in providing support on a mass scale to people. The company requested that a single nationwide helpline should be set up, and the DoT has now assigned the number 14444 for the same. Moreover, he added that they are adding call centre support at the back end of the move, which is a fairly advanced operation. The MeitY has already launched a free-to-air channel called ‘DigiShala,’ which will be available on Doordarshan’s DTH platform, and ‘CashlessIndia,’ a website to educate people about digital transactions.
