To facilitate easier ticketing processes through digital transactions, on Tuesday, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launched a new app called ‘IRCTC Rail Connect.’ According to NDTV, the app will replace the existing IRCTC Connect app. Speaking about the platform, Prabhu said the tool boasts features like 24×7 service with no time-based checks, synchronisation with NGET (Next Generation e-Ticketing), and support for varied categories. These include general, ladies, Tatkal and Premium-Tatkal. The app also packs better security.
The new tool will be integrated with the IRCTC e-wallet. Prabhu added that through IRCTC Rail Connect, users can also view and cancel old tickets. The app will also allow payments through more than 40 banks, through netbanking, credit/debit cards and wallets. IRCTC Rail Connect will even be inter-connected with the IRCTC AIR and IRCTC Catering – Food On Track apps.
