Samsung just launched its very own AI assistant called ‘Bixby’. The clever helper boasts a handy integration with the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Engadget reports that the assistant comes with its own access button on the Galaxy S8, that helps you navigate services, apps and more, via voice, touch and text commands. Bixby also brings a card-centric user interface that lets you save cards as reminders for later use. The assistant currently integrates with Samsung’s camera, gallery, contacts, messages and settings. It will bring integration with third-party apps later.
This means that the tech can “see” and do things like shop, translate languages on street signs, and more. All of these abilities fall under Bixby Vision – a tool to help you look for things with images alone. What’s more is that Samsung said the tech will work even with services like Pinterest, Amazon and Vivino.
