After releasing its environmental report, tech mammoth Apple is on a mission to go the eco-friendly way by using recycled materials. According to Engadget, the company is talking about “closing the loop” on its use of raw materials, potentially redefining how gadgets are made altogether. The iPhone maker believes it’s now on the road to being able to use only recycled materials to build its next-generation products. Further, taking forward its recycling mission, Apple has also built a secret run of Mac Mini units with materials recovered by its Liam robots, which are used to run iPhone production lines.
Even in terms of energy, the company is looking to go as green as possible. It wants to own as much of its power generation as it can, rather than buying on the wholesale market. In fact, it hopes to have a 4 GW power generation capacity by 2020, enough to power 725,000 homes.
