The JEE Advanced test, to qualify for a coveted seat in the country’s premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), has most students sweating over preparation and expected questions. The stakes are very high for all and anxiety levels are off the charts. Keeping up with the digital age, a committee has presented a proposal at a recent meeting of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) to conduct this test through mobile phones.
While still at a preliminary stage, according to The Hindustan Times, the IIT council, the apex decision-making body for the institutes will take a final decision. Currently students can opt to give the JEE Mains test online to qualify for the JEE Advanced. Officials are also looking to extend the online option to the Advanced test as well. Given the growing use and penetration of mobile handsets and data across the country, this suggestion makes sense.
