We all know that drunk driving is dangerous. But, it has a brother that’s equally dangerous – distracted driving. Driving when you’re distracted – especially now, by your phone – can be fatal for you and others on the street. Knowing this, Samsung has decided to help. The Verge reports that the company has launched an app that’s dedicated to helping people avoid using their phones while driving or biking. So, the new ‘In-Traffic Reply’ automatically sends preset replies while you’re in motion. This means you don’t get distracted, and stay safe.
The app relies on your phone’s GPS sensor to tell when you’re busy at the wheel. Then, it automatically responds to calls or texts with either a default reply of “I’m driving, so I cannot answer at the moment”, an animated image, or a custom message. In-Traffic Reply is currently in beta in the Netherlands.
