Facebook’s lighter Messenger offering for Android, launched last year, has now reached 132 more countries. However, NDTV reports that the app, which was built for people who use older or weaker phones, or slower connections, has still not made its way to India. Facebook Messenger Lite is now in countries like Germany, Colombia, Italy, Vietnam, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan, and more. This expansion is part of the company’s aim to bring these additional countries onto the chat platform as well.
What’s even more surprising is that the app is still not available even in the US and UK. It was originally launched just last October in Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. Maybe Facebook has something else in store for India, the US, and the UK.
