Cisco will provide smart services for the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City or Gift City. According to The Times of India, the IT giant has signed an MoU with Gift to jointly provide public Wi-Fi, smart parking, smart transport, traffic analytics, smart kiosk and Remote Expert Government Services (REGS) in GIFT City near Gandhinagar. Cisco will also install environmental sensors to monitor pollution levels in real time. A statement released by Cisco said,
Global experts from Cisco would specially develop application for Gift City in fields of intellectual property rights, internet of things (IoT) and mobile technology.”
Cisco signed another MoU with Internation Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) to build a startup ecosystem and will explore options to set up an IoT innovation hub at iCreate’s new campus near Bavla in Ahmednagar.
